How to complete an advance search on Google

To begin, click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Advanced search" from the dropdown menu.

Use Quotations: Putting quotation marks around specific words or phrases will help you locate information that contains your exact wording.

Using the words AND, OR, NOT* allow you to group words and phrases together to broaden, restrict, or specifically define your search. These words are also referred to as Boolean operators

*Google will recognize a minus sign (-) in place of the word NOT.

To further narrow your results, you can input additional information such as language or region.
